Quality Control: A Techinical Criticism of Group-Collaboration Websites
Technical Criticism Paper
CATA 365: Media Production
Quality_Control.pdf

In 2007 I took a course devoted to harnessing the communication power of electronic media. In Media Production, I learned about effectively constructing messages using website, video, audio, and desktop publishing channels. I developed this paper during our website unit. In it I critique websites created by three groups of students based on how well they adhere to standards expected of web-based messages.

A quick reading of this technical criticism will prove that I can analyze and critically evaluate a text using appropriate, specific, and professional techniques. For example, I evaluate the scannablility of the website copy, the consistency of the graphics and layout, the color scheme, the learning curve of the navigation, and more. All of these elements are what professional website developers look for in a quality site, and this evaluation demonstrates that I am capable of thinking and communicating as one of them.
