A Short Academic Trip to England
Informational Flyer
Faculty of Art & Classics Department, Monmouth College
England_Trip_Flier.pdf

I was approached by faculty of the Art department at Monmouth College to create a promotional document for an academic trip to England. Sponsored by the Classics and Art departments, this trip would earn students college credit while enriching their minds with the remnants of ancient Anglo-Saxon culture. While certain pieces of information were required to be present in the final piece, many of the project's details were left up to me to finalize.

Since the main audience would be students of a small liberal arts college, I determined a flyer to be the most effective channel for this project. A flyer posted around campus (and in the Art and Classics departments, specifically) would serve to get the information to every student walking past a bulletin board. The background image of Stonehenge grabs attention, and the old-style font is reminiscent of English heritage. The most important keywords are given special formatting to draw attention, and the organization of the information makes the flyer scannable as the reader walks by. The flyer attempts to inform and persuade its audience, giving just enough information to pique interest while keeping the content visually balanced. I think that this flyer fulfills its purpose in an aesthetically pleasing way.
